This show is heavily inspired by the Hawkeye comics written by Matt Fraction and illustrated by David Aja. This Disney + series picks up after the events of Avengers: Endgame, which Clint Barton (Jeremy Rennier) goes down a dark path as Ronin after his entire family was dusted by Thano’s snap. Now that the Blip has brought them all back, Clint wants to spend the holidays in New York City with his wife (Linda Cardellini) and kids. He becomes sidetracked when he confronted by enemies from his past and teams up with Kate Bishop (Hailee Steinfeld) to take them down. The TV show premieres on November 24th, 2021.
Renner has been portraying the MCU’s master hunter since a cameo appearance in 2011’s Thor, followed by prominent roles in team-up movies like The Avengers and Captain America: Civil War, the character has never been the focus of any of these storylines. This is set the change with this solo series. Also, it will introduce another hero Maya Lopez (Alaqua Cox) who will be getting her own solo series titled Echo.
Hawkeye will also continue Yelena Belova’s (Florence Pugh) storyline from Black Widow after a post-credit scene put her in a collision course with Barton for his supposed role in Natasha Romanoff’s death. This series will be doing some heavy-lifting in the MCU with its various storylines, so Hawkeye will definitely benefit from the 5-6 hours of runtime it will have compared to a feature film’s 2 hours.
