New surprises continue to pop up around Walt Disney World for its 50th anniversary. Over at Main Street Bakery in the Magic Kingdom, a new dessert throws it all the way back to October 1st, 1971!
The blue ganache matches EARidescent colors used to mark the 50th, which has been featured in other desserts we’ve seen around the resort and it wouldn’t be a real celebration with Cinderella Castle, which appears on the white chocolate piece. To complete the “opening day” vibe, the sprinkles are colored to resemble balloons, and when you tilt the whole thing slightly down, you can see it sort of looks like balloons “flying” over the castle, just as they did over fifty years ago. That being said, it doesn’t quite reflect just how many balloons were released on opening day and looks barer towards the back.
